This 1975 Donzi X18 went under a full mechanical conversion in 2015.
A brand new Mercury MAG 383 crate motor was installed along with an Arneson ASD 6Surface drive (not a Bravo Conversion Kit) and Werner Velvet Drive transmission.
High performance Kiekhaefer aluminum trim tabs were added along with IMCO hydraulic steering.
The dash was fitting with Livorsi Gauges and mechanical trim and drive indicators.
Components were professional rigged and re-wired and it shows.
No rats nest of wires and everything is run nicely.
The transom, engine compartment and bilge were all redone and finished with a coat of white gelcoat.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase a truly unique Donzi.
There is only one other X18 Donzi fitted with a surface drive that I know of.
Google or You Tube “Mighty Mouse Donzi” to see what a boat fitted with these components is capable of.
The cost to build this Donzi would exceed 40k in parts alone not including the labor required to install.
I’ve run the boat just a few days ago and everything is functional.
It runs strong and feels like it is on rails.
It’s currently running a Bravo 15-1/4 x 26 LH SS 4 Blade prop (with a special Arneson/Bravo hub adapter) but I think it could use a little more diameter.
I’d estimate the top speed tobe around 75mph in the right flat water.
I’d give the condition of the hull a 7 out of 10.
The gelcoat is original and shines very nicely but there are small chips and scratches that occur over 46 years of boating.
Overall, it’s in very nice honest condition meaning that nothing was ever re-done or covered up over the years so there are no surprises.
The white interior is very nice with no rips or tears.
    A
cockpit and full winter cover will also come with the boat.
    A 1984 Galvanized EZ-Loader trailer is included.
It was recently re-done with new hubs and bearings.
It could use some new tires and lights for long hauls but otherwise it’s a very roadworthy trailer.
Engine oil and filter, drive oil, fuel filter and spark plugs are all new for the start of this season.
I have the title and registration for both the boat and trailer in my name.
