    Description

This beautiful 1988 Galaxy 'Superior' 21' Boat with a GM Mercruiser 135HP 3.0L Engine needs some love - and a new owner! It was sidelined in spring of 2013 with a diagnosis of a blown freeze plug. Unfortunately, it is in the rear of the engine covered by the flywheel so it will require the motor be pulled and flywheel pulled to replace the plug. The engine was running well prior to this and all the hydraulics and accessories worked well. I had just replaced the impeller and was taking it out for its first run of the new boating year when I discovered the gushing flow of water in the engine compartment from under the flywheel cover. Fortunately, the bilge pump works great. The boat has been covered and kept dry all these years. The buyer will probably need to clean and re-gap the points and plugs. All the electrical connections for the hydraulics will need to be cleaned as well. That was always an annual thing to do to get all the hydraulics working good. The lower unit was removed (it is sealed) and placed in the boat in 2014 in an attempt to start the repair process but that's as far as I got. All the nuts and bolts for that are bagged and on the boat. Includes all kinds of great accessories like a car stereo with built-in speakers, a ship-to-shore radio, a paddle, an electric anchor system with anchor, a fish finder, an onboard battery charger, two pole holders (not shown), a compass and a folding, tinted door on the cuddy cabin. There is also a tow rope for tubing and a nice tube I'll throw in. If it's in the pictures, you get it. You also get the beautiful blue canopy shown in an old photo taken when she was in the water back in 2010'ish. What's missing is a fire extinguisher - you'll need to get that squared away. Have a spare tire but it's rotted - the rim will come in handy if you want to put a spare tire bracket on the trailer, so that goes, too, if you want it. Have clear title and ignition/lock keys ready to go, of course. She made a good ski-boat with a top speed of about 25mph. Not killer fast, but holds 18 gal of gas in the hull and gets you a long way. Was used on Lake Erie for a long time for fishing. So, the boat floats, the trailer rolls, the engine runs. Please note that the freeze plug diagnosis was more theory than fact. There is a slim chance it could be a cracked block but the volume of water flow was too significant for that so I went with the freeze plug with a tiny possibility of both so I cannot guarantee that it only needs a new freeze plug installed to seal the leak.
