2 VINTAGE 1940s ICE CREAM SIGNS
Fun pair of vintage lithograph paper diecut ice cream signs measuring approximately 14-1/2" to 15-1/2" in size. Featuring a pink fountain drink in tall glass and a pink sundae in ice cream glass, I think they are both made from strawberry ice cream. Marked ESMOND GUNDLACH & CO., CIN'TI, O ~ LITHO. IN U.S.A., it was designed to hang behind an ice cream parlor counter - colors are vibrant and graphics are crisp.
Condition is very nice with a tear on the top of the fountain glass - this shows from the back, but is more difficult to see on the front. Sign have never been used or displayed - these are new old stock purchased from a defunct ice cream parlor in San Francisco, California. Simple, bold graphics are striking - think they would be a fun addition to any sign collection or display!
