    Description

Landing Craft Boat - All Aluminum Heavy Weight - SpecMar Design - 90% complete
All the hard work is done!
Ready to be customized to your needs: Working - fishing - pleasure
Specmar Inc (Specialty Marine Contractors) stood out as offering the sturdiest designs and a willingness to customize their plans to my needs
Starting with 3/8” SKID PLATE and 3/8” KEEL for a ridged rock-proof frame.
I’m a free diver and shell collector at heart and I wanted a boat that I could anchor in shallow water and beach regularly
Most marine architects offered “finished” boats with 1/4” bottom and keel and “no plans” for the small shop builder. Specmar Inc was willing to work with me and offered router cutting which was a priority
Stephen F. Pollard (owner of Specmar) wrote a book “Boatbuilding with Aluminum, A Complete Guide for the Small Shop Builder”. I strongly suggest you read it.
Dallas Troutner is the master welder who did all the welding on this boat. He manages PVI, a 100 employee aluminum manufacturing plant in my home town. Dallas has 35 years of experience in fabricating aluminum
Meanwhile, I’ve had open heart surgery and developing Parkinsons and Dallas has had a series of strokes. Progress on my Dream Boat Stopped!
    Measurements:

Four large bollards, two fore and two aft 17’ apart, built of heavy 2” square tubing and welded at all points including the bottom. I intended to lift the boat with a crane when convenient, including deck passage to far away diving locations.

Two large doors fore and aft cut out of 3/16 plate
