BEATE KUHN:
1927, Düsseldorf, Germany - Died: December 10, 2015 -  Beate Kuhn was one of the most important figures in contemporary German ceramic arts. She studied art history at the University of Freiburg and ceramics at the Werkkunstschule in Wiesbaden under Erika Opitz and Hans Karl Starke, before enrolling at the Werkkunstschule in Darmstadt under F. Th. Schroeder. In the 1950s, Kuhn formed a close working relationship with the ceramicists Karl and Ursula Scheid, and established a workshop community with artists. During this period, Kuhn also produced porcelain pieces for the Rosenthal Company...Kuhn has won many awards, including the Hessian State Prize for German Arts & Crafts, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of German handicrafts..She is rightly regarded by critics, gallerists, curators, and contemporary artists as the one of the most important German ceramic artists of the post-World-War-II period.

Offered for your consideration, I have a mid century, modern beautiful cased Vase designed by  Beate Kuhn  for the Rosenthal Studio Line Home Designs and made in Germany - number on sticker states 17-4156/A...
The exterior of the tall Vase has a lovely shiny black gasses cased over the white interior..
Back stamp on the glass piece: Rosenthal, Home Designs - white sticker has # 17-4156/A
Approximate size:  13.75 inches at highest point on the top rim to base - 12.75 inches at the lowest point to base. - top rim is 2.75 inches by 2 5/8 inches - base is 3 inches diameter..
Light signs of previous use should be expected consistent with age..this vintage piece is in nice condition - free of chips, cracks, hairlines, crazing - I do notice one faint scratch line on the interior of the vase on the white (picture 5).. Also something on the rim - cannot feel anything but noticed in the picture (picture #6)... Perfect showcase piece!!!
